We've been crossing our fingers ...and toes, knees, hands, feet, eyes and even braided my hair. Hoping to get this amazing house. Well, it worked! We got it! I'll post some pictures as soon as I get them. I'm so extremely excited!! I have to give a ginormous thank you to my bosses. They gave us a loan of $2,200 so no one else could snag our dream house. Otherwise we would have had to wait until we got our tax money back and the house could have been snatched up by then. So, THANK YOU RICK AND RENEE!!!! You're the best employers in the whole world!!!
A few little tidbits about our new house. The owner is currently remodeling it. So the inside looks faboosh! While the siding and yard still could use some loving. In the future when the owner has more money he said he will probably remodel the kitchen and bathrooms. Until then they are a little dated but usable and not a problem. It is a 3 bed 2 bath house. Our master bedroom has 2 closets. Can you believe it?! TWO! Those are mine, Justin can have the dresser. :) Quit giving me those dirty looks. I think I've already established that I'm evil. The master bath only has 1 sink. What the french? But tons of counter space. It also has a toilet and standing shower. The other bathroom, located in the hallway, has 2 sinks a bath/shower combo and toilet. This is where the washer/dryer hookups are along with some upper cabinetry for laundry stuff.
There is a hallway linen closet located in between the other two bedrooms. Our master bed is located at the end of this hallway. So bed 1, linen closet, bed 2, master bed. Main bath is across from linen closet. Confused? I'm excited! Attached to our master room is a, what we are calling, master retreat. They are currently building an enclosed porch area. It will be accessible through a glass door in our room or the steps from the backyard. Can you say awesome?! The yards are mossy with big trees and plenty of places to hide fairies, garden gnomes, gargoyles and birdbaths. With planters here and there. I imagine a fairy living in this.
It has a two car garage that we won't be using as a garage. Half will be Justin's workspace, the other half my craft/workspace. There are two storage rooms, one on each side of the garage in the back. A funky narrow hallway goes down the center and leads to nothing. One is used by the owner. The other room will be storage along with the funky hallway. After a new fridge is purchased the old one will go down here as well for extra fridge space.
The living room is a great size. Huge windows have ocean views. One window is a sliding glass door. There is another sliding glass door in the room next to the kitchen. That room will be our dining area. A built in buffet is next to the huge window in the side living room. Debbie's computer will go next to this so she (and anyone else) can play on it and watch the ocean.
I'm going to put a comfy and pretty chair on the opposite side of the computer so I can look at this view. This way I can read, sip coffee/tea, and enjoy our new life. Pretty sweet view out of our front windows huh?
There is a huge deck. Almost completely a wrap around. Justin is already thinking of what kind of barbecue to get.
One of the best parts? We can have pets! That's right folks! Jasper will probably be getting a puppy for Christmas! Or sooner because I'm so freakin' excited to be able to get a pet. But we have to be careful and not take the first puppy we come across. I want one that will fit our family well.
What else...OH! Did I mention this community, Pacific Shores, has it's own private beach park? This is a pic from the advertisement. It's taken from the parking place for the park.
The park is for people and the guests of Pacific Shores and Surfland communities only. No others allowed. Awesome huh?! It has a bench, picnic tables, fireplace, trash can, doggy doodoo bags, cement steps to the sand. Larry, the owner, said you can find moonstones on this beach!
It's kind of weird. This home felt like home the minute we stepped inside. But it's not what I thought I'd end up with. It's next to the beach which was never my first choice in a home. I want country. In a strange way, this house feels country. The community feels safe. It's cozy and quiet. I love it.
We have a meeting tomorrow to sign papers and go over the details like finding out when we can MOVE IN! The remodeling is almost complete so very soon.
EEEK! I can't stop squealing I'm so very excited to live in this enchanted place! It seems like our dreams are finally being realized. What a lucky wonderful life we have. :)
