EEW!

A few of my most hated things.

1) Flies of all sorts - Landing on things and spreading their poop loving filth. Fruit flies really gross me out cause they swarm in hoards.

2) Fleas - Disgusting, unsanitary, germ spreading, icky villians of doom.

3) Mosquitoes - They terrify me. If a fly and a flea got it on and had a baby it would be a mosquito. It's the worst creature in the universe.

4) Ticks - Sneaky little bastards of burrowing disease.

That about sums up my list of foulness. Of course there are others that thoroughly give me the heeby-jeebies but these sickos top my list. What are you most grossed out or scared by?

Note: While looking for images for this post I actually had to stop a few times because I was so grossed out. With my weak pregnancy stomach I got thisclose to vomiting. Eew!

Sinful Colors

I came across a nail polish that I love and I have to share it with you. It's called Sinful Colors. My favorite is the hot pink which I'm wearing right now on my fingers and tootsies. It dries in a matte finish so be sure to grab a shiny top coat if you want the sparkle. This image is from a search I did on Bing. It's from a site called The Daily Varnish.

Pomegranate

You know those little word games you played in school?

Weiner is to a boy what ______ is to a girl:
a) Mountain Dew
b) Coochie
c) Pencil

Of course, my school assignments were never quite that fun. Bummer. Back to my point here, the other day me and Jasper were eating a pomegranate. He loves them! And it got me to thinking...
Pomegranate is to winter time what sunflower seeds are to summer time! I'm not sure why I worded it like that in my head but I did.

Enjoy your daily dose of randomness.

Brave Kid

This was too powerful not to share. Hope it moves you like it did me.

We will raise our family to stand up to bullies and lend a hand to the bullied. Kinda like an emotional Robin Hood. :)

Fail

I'm working on updating my blog. I realize it's the opposite of spectacular right now. I'll fix it tomorrow. I'm freakin' exhausted.

...and I'll actually put the effin music up tomorrow as well.

Someone hit the EPIC FAIL button.

Ulgh.

Christmas Music

I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!

Yes, I know that Thanksgiving has not happened yet. I love Thanksgiving. I plan on celebrating that holiday also and giving it all the hooplah it is due. However, there is nothing wrong with giving Christmas spirit more time to make people smile. I refuse to pretend I'm not ridiculously wound up and stoked that Christmas is just a blink away.

"The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear." No truer words have ever been spoken.

Christmas cheer is year-round with my family. Every November I wait for the time when it's socially acceptable to put up our tree and bust out all the decorations. I'm getting the warm and fuzzies just thinking about it! You know what? I'm a big kid and I can do what I want. I see a tree in our near future. Our very near future.

Enjoy the festive music while I hunt for our ornaments.

Merry Christmas!

Yum, Yes!

OHMYGOSH! Do you know what sounds amazingly incredibly delicious? It sounds so tasty my mouth is watering just thinking about taking a big bite. Mmmmmm.... Yummy! Since it's currently 11:05pm and there is no way in heck I'm going to be getting one anytime soon, I'm making a virtual sandwich. Drool with me.

Start with a nice puffy homemade pita bread.

And then stuff all the goodies inside!

A huge handful of alfalfa sprouts ...and then a little more.A couple slices of fresh super acidy homegrown tomatoes.

Just a tiny smudge of avocado. Kinda like the one found in the picture here.

A thin slice of turkey from an actual bird. Not that once-was-a-bird-but-now-it's-smashed-up jumbled-"meat"-you-get-from-a-deli-bag. I'm talking carved right off of that juicy gobbler kind of meat. Mmm.

Throw in one or two thin and tiny pieces of red onion.

Yep, two of those in the picture would be perfect. Don't forget to add a nice thick slice of mozzarella cheese.

Yum, Yes! A half of my awesome sandwich paired with this yummy soup

or this mouth-watering soup,

or this delicious soup.

I'll be in heaven.

You'd better believe I'm buying the ingredients for my magnificent meal this weekend. I think I'll be having it Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A different soup each day. Oooh I can't wait! I'm shaking with excitement! Anyone care to join me? I'm sure I'll have tons of leftovers. Make sure you bring the iced tea!

Dobby

We got a new puppy!! This one is the perfect size for our yard and cozy home. His name is Dobby. You can see the similarities better when he's wet. Dobby is intelligent, learns super quickly and loves the whole family. He doesn't knock Jasper over at every turn either. We love him!

Dobby was born on June 5, 2010. He's a pomeranian chihuahua mix or pom-chi. Dobby has the coolest fur! It's a weird brindle color. You can actually see patches that are short and orange and very chihuahua looking. He's so stinkin' cute. Jasper can't get enough of him. He even lets Dobby sit in his favorite chair.

Everyone, meet Dobby!!

The camera was a little too bright for the poor guy.

Two Lines!

Warning: This post may be TMI for some people. It's really not that bad though.

Justin and I actually tried to get pregnant this month. Meaning I actually paid attention to the days we should do it. I didn't really expect to get pregnant but we were hoping.

I had begun to notice a few things that may be early signs of pregnancy. But honestly it's difficult to tell because often those symptoms are the same as PMS. I kept thinking, "hmm maybe ...nah". It sucks to get your hopes up for nothing. So I tried not to.

The other night Justin came into bed late and I guess I was sprawled out, immitating a furnace and making "the noises". "The noises" are the noises I make when I'm sleeping and pregnant. It drives Justin nuts but it soothes me. Haha! They're kind of like snoring but instead of a snore I make this sigh sound. Don't know why I started that. I did it so much while pregnant with Jasper that he does it too. He's done it since birth. The nurses would all comment on the adorable little noises he makes while he sleeps. It still makes me smile every time I hear it.

A day before I was supposed to meet the Crimson Goddess I decided I wanted to take a test. This way we could either start being crazy happy or I could expect the dreaded crap that is a curse to women.

Off to the good ol' Dollar Tree we went to pick up a pregnancy test. Did you know that those tests are more accurate than many of the more expensive tests? Keep that in mind if you're like me and like to take many tests to watch the pink strip get darker as your HCG levels get higher. Love it!

So then we went home and I did the test. Of course, as soon as I put the drops of pee pee on the test I had to stare at it. Mind you, I'm still on the toilet with my pants around my ankles, the test packaging is torn all over on the floor and I'm just holding the test in front of my face making sure it is VERY level and staring. I'm sure it's not that big of a deal but the test instructions say 5 drops of pee and make sure the test stays level. I'm always paranoid that somehow it will ruin everything if I do 4 or 6 drops. Or if the test tilts slightly I make a panicked face and right it immediately. Lol!

Okay, back on topic. So I'm sitting there looking at the test and all the color is moving up the strip and into the control line. I'm instantly bummed. There's no sign that the other line is going to show up. I put the test down, finish up and wash my hands. Then I pick the test back up not expecting much. I'm still seeing the color move through the strip and into the control line. But as the color is traveling it seems to be leaving behind another line! What?!?!

I keep watching the test as BOTH lines get darker and darker. I tested a day before my period and I got a no-questions-about-it double pink line.

WE'RE PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jasper is going to be a big brother! Justin is just as excited as I am. We can't believe we're going to be parents of two kids. The new arrival should be here June of 2012.

BABY!!!

*Note: As ladies who've taken these tests before know, it was brighter and more pink the day I took it. As the test dries up the colors darken.

Favicon

Dudes!! I have a favicon.

I'll let that sink in.

What is it? Ulgh, you're killing me, Smalls. You know... that little tiny picture up there by the address bar. Yep, I have one. Pretty awesome-sauce. I think I'll end up changing it. In fact, I'm positive I will. I just wanted one up there because I could. Now I'm not happy with it. That means I need to come up with a logo of some sort. If it was that easy I'd have one already. Any ideas? I'm also working on a header for the blog.

Decisions are the worst.

He has some awesome prints you can buy. Check him out.

October

A rush of cold wind signals the start,
Of witches and goblins and ghouls in the dark.
Cauldrons steaming with dragon scales,
Bubbling and boiling and brewing a spell.

Magic runs amok and soaks in your skin,
Infecting, enthralling, you let it in.
All through the month,
You can smell Halloween.
Put a charm on your door,
Beware of all hallows eve.

Sing It

La lala da doo wop la de ladaaahhh

That Harry Potter music sure got old fast, huh? Our next musical selection will be in the category of things that I like to sing. Loudly and with gusto because is there any other way? Ha! I sooo sounded like Chandler from Friends.

I like to have the music player on autostart so people are forced to listen to the songs I choose. As always though, feel free to scroll to the bottom where I keep the player and mess with the controls however you like.

In addition, how do you feel about the new fall theme? I love fall!! I'm working on designing some things for my beloved blog that will *hopefully* be ready within the next week.

Stay tuned...

and sing along!

Booger

Dear Jasper,

Oh my sweet little man. It's incredible to see how independent you are becoming. Why just today you learned something new. I was on the bed with you tickling, wrestling and generally goofing off when you became very serious. A booger was in your nose, you see ...and you realized it ...so you picked it.

It was awesome! You were shoving your little pointer finger up there and digging around like you'd been doing it for years. Which of course you haven't been. Today was the very first time you've ever picked your nose. You were pretty much as intense as the kid in the photo. That booger was #1 priority.

It took a little maneuvering but you finally got that bugger out. You held it up so you could get a really good look at it. Then you picked it off your pointer finger with the other hand and handed it to me. Like I'm the freakin' booger collector. It was no big deal to you. Pick the boogie, study it, hand over to Mommy.

Thanks baby. I'm glad you're learning to share.
