Stuff On TV

Two random things I discovered while watching tv.

#1-  I was watching Animal Cops:  Luckiest Babies.  That right there should have been a big no-no for me.  But it said "luckiest babies" so that has to mean happy endings right?  It did but that didn't make the situations any less sad.  One Mommy dog and her litter of fourteen puppies (four-frickin-teen!) had been abandoned in a house.  It was obvious no human had been there in a long time.  Every puppy from that litter was a cute chunky little baby.  Every single one of the fourteen!  What an fantastic Mommy.  Some dogs suck at being Moms.  This was not one of those dogs.  I hope she got some great treat and a lucky family to spoil her.  She deserves it.

#2-  I'm constantly looking for cheerleading shows online.  Mostly the competitions that have recently aired.  My sister was able to see all of them and I haven't found even the tail-end of one.  We have the same channels.  I don't get it.  So I'm flipping through the guide and I see Cheerleader Camp.  I get totally excited!  Then totally disappointed.  It's a porno.  This happens to me every time.  Cheerleader Camp, Cheerleader Tryouts, Cheerleaders, etc.  I must say I was suspicious when once I read Sassy Cheerleader Girls.  That title tipped me off.  You'd think I'd remember but I see the word "cheerlead" in it and I get all giddy.  I'd like to point out that I always read the description and even if I simply clicked it, we don't get that particular naughty channel.

Have you ever seen something on tv and wanted to comment to someone about it but no one was there with you?

Ready? OK!

This evening when I got home from work I thought it would be fun to do some cheers with Jasper. A good way to jump around, expend some energy, be loud and have fun! I started off with a few easy ones and aimed them directly at my little man.

He just stood their staring with a big ol' grin on his face for the first cheer. The second cheer he got the hang of all the clapping and joined in. Doing a crazy off rhythm clap, not unlike many JV cheerleaders. By the third cheer, Mighty Varsity, he's stomping his right foot and saying "T". Then clapping and cheering afterwards. Freakin' cheer genius I'm telling you! Although I'll be super proud of him becoming a cheerleader...I really hope he takes an interest in football instead.

This was for the 2007 Toledo Summer Festival parade.

For those of you who are interested, and for those of you who aren't but can't tear your eyes away. The following is Mighty Varsity. x= clap (Don't be a complete idiot, you know what a clap is.), s= stomp (stomp your foot), Chest= This means pat your chest. Right hand touch left shoulder, left arm down by side.), . The beat the beat= make a patty-cake type slapping on your thighs. After the remix I'm not using the freakin' code.

Got all that? Good. Ready? OK!

We are the mighty varsity
We're gonna rock our team
To a victory
Hit it

ss xx ss xx s x s x s xx

We are the mighty Boomer team
We're gonna rock our team
To a different beat
Hit it

s xx s x s xx s x

Boomers!

Remix!

stomp clap the beat the beat clap clap chest chest clap the beat the beat clap.

"T" clap the beat the beat clap clap chest chest clap the beat the beat clap.
"H" clap the beat the beat clap clap chest chest clap the beat the beat clap.
"S" clap the beat the beat clap clap chest chest clap the beat the beat clap.

Boomers!

It's really a great cheer. Reading cheers kinda sucks.

It sure is a fun way to play though! And boy is Jasper a great cheerleader!! Must run in the family. Oh wait, that's the super competitive, must win at all costs thing. Woops. I have this theory. Take mine and Justin's build + Justin's height + the Leech aggressive opponent gene + Justin's confrontation happy gene = One kick ass sports player. I'm rooting for football but whatever! I just like to cheer!

Tik-Tok

An entire squad stunt routine involving a liberty tick tock. I know they make it look like a piece of pie but a liberty tik-tok is hella hard ya'll. HELLA HARD! This simply emphasizes the fact that this squad was, hands down, the best. Simply x The Best!

Fulldown

This was what they did for their first evaluation. Both stunt groups attempted fulldowns at camp for the first time so this is fantastic!

For those of you who aren't hip with cheerleading lingo, a fulldown is the twisty landing cradle thing.

Cheer

Samantha reminded me that there are videos out there of the good old cheerleading days! I'll be posting them to the blog.

This video is of the squads final evaluation at cheerleading camp in 2007. They were the BEST squad I had the pleasure of coaching. I mean freakin' fantastic!!!!

Awesome right?!?! And this was at the beginning of it all. They just got better and better.
